Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
yes you can!
those words are actually sneakily hard
they're prepositions, tools used by the language to link words together
while some have pretty distinct use cases, many prepositions are just words that can show up in some expressions or constructions
"en" notably is the hardest word in the whole language for learners in my opinion
maybe you want more information specifically on when to pick the right one when it comes to spatial locations?
Spatial local as in
Je suis en mon le maison
I guess that sentence is grammatically wrong as well
yup, "je suis dans ma maison" !
dans is used here
for the most part, "dans" is used for within a closed or limited space
It generally translates to "in" or "inside"
Ok
Je suis dans le Disneyland ?
"sur" is used for being over a surface
it generally translates to "on" or "onto"
in that case, you'd use "à", which is used for cities or places within a city, picture pointing at somewhere on a map
you'll find more info there: https://www.ohlalafrenchcourse.com/en/blog/article/prepositions-of-place-in-french-a-de-dans-sur-chez-et-en
Thank you
With locations like maison and Disneyland it can be dans or à but there's a nuance
Dans is to specify that you're inside of it and not just outside
À is to indicate where you can be found if that makes sense
Also note that maison is gonna need a determiner like la or ma but Disneyland isn't because it's a proper noun
