Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Je trouvais celui-ci en ligne : https://www.lawlessfrench.com/grammar/bon-vs-bien/
Bon and bien can be tricky as they both belong to three different parts of speech and have similar meanings. This is a good lesson that will get you well on your way to understanding the difference.
bien is an adverb meaning it modifies a verb. bon is an adjective meaning it modifies a noun
c'est un bon chanteur vs il chante bien
Note: describing a woman as « bonne » is very vulgar.
Not true
It's very common to say c'est bien or even c'est très bien
i think in that case it's still acting as adverb
but it's true that it might be a little confusing for the learner
No you can't say c'est très extrêmement
yeah, however you want to define it. it's connected to the verb though
bien can definitely be an adjective, like ce film est bien
oh i guess that's still être
both bien and bon can act as both adjectives and adverbs
bien is generally an adverb
and bon generally is an adjective
but it's not always the case
Et dans "un homme bien" ?
you're right i was too restrictive in my definition
je connais pas l'expression pour etre honnete
