Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
"je suis assis" describes a state using an adjective. I am currently seated.
"je m'assois" describes an ongoing action. I am in the middle of the sitting down action.
"I'm seated" vs "I sit down"
oh okay guys thank you
wait i just realized, jsuis assis is just passé composé huh
je suis assis can't also be passe composé ?
actually no
s'asseoir is a reflexive verb
if it was passé composé it would have been je me suis assis
yes
no
attribute and passé composé being the same can happen, but that's not the case here
a common example being with "mourir" ("il est mort" means "he's dead" as well as "he died")
not really
