Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

I didn't personally like it, but there's no one-size-fits-all solution. It may help some.
Ultimately the two biggest things are the consistency and variety

Okay, i'll look into those! I appreciate the input. Words without context just kinda seems offputting to me. like professeur, maître, and maîtresse were all teacher according to it, which didn't seem right to me.

So i had to use google to help figure out what was going on.

WordReference is great for looking up individual words with context.

That said, sometimes a language will have nuances that won't translate easily in yours. As a beginner, most of the time, it's fine brushing over some of the nuances and just trying to get overall understanding. These nuances sometimes reflect cultural differences, or just different ways to communicate ideas, and you'll mostly learn them with time and experience. Of course, you can also spend more time by asking questions and doing research if you want to clear them up.

for individual words, dictionaries like WordReference can give more accurate definitions and context, although not all nuance will necessarily translate well
