Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
I had thought infinitives can be commands like in recipes, except you use infinitif rather than the vous version to be more polite

Infinitives are not really commands so much as instructions/warnings, stuff that's generalized for anyone who might read it but doesn't necessarily push them into completing an action. If you're speaking to someone directly (or multiple people) in the moment, I don't think there's anytime you'd use infinitive
