Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
I don't really get what it means it context either tbh
but "on" here is referring to someone else. This is very common in French, and would generally be translated as passive voice in English.
"that's an opinion you're being told" (lit. that someone is telling you)

basically complaining about the state of the society, "on", that someone else is the part of society that's pushing a narrative
