Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

"d' " is just "de" before a vowel (or a mute h)

"de" is a preposition, a tool used by the language for linking words in various cases
there isn't really a meaning to learn for "de"
rather, various constructions you're gonna learn might make use of "de" for admitedly pretty random purposes

Oh like l’

#

Yah idk how de works

cobalt oasis
# obsidian sequoia Oh like l’

yes
le, la, de, ne, me, te, se, que... and some other words elide, meaning their last vowel gets replaced by an apostrophe before a vowel or a mute h

# obsidian sequoia Yah idk how de works

you don't really have to know what "de" means, it means a thousand things and none at the same time
you mostly have to keep in mind that some things in the language can make use of it
it's similar to "to" in English for instance, it's used for a bunch of things when it comes to linking words

#

if you have a specific case using "de" you'd like to be cleared up tho, feel free

no!
"de" is neither feminine or masculine
"le" is an article used before masculine nouns
"la" is an article used before feminine nouns

it's just that they can be next to each other in a sentence
when "de la" are next to each other, nothing happens
but when you would write "de le", it gets replaced by "du" instead
