Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
depends on how much of a pain your interlocutor is
spelling is (unfortunately) important to European French so I'd recommend learning them right
sometimes it really doesn't matter though, e.g. évènement/événement
a with accent aigu just isn't used, so it'd be understood but we'd know you're a foreigner
j'ai jamais vu événement perso
oh yeah with A it's always À
ou alors ça m'a pas marqué
c'est très commun
I mean, specifically with an "a", I already know the difference between all the e's
on le prononce évènement donc ça m'étonnerait de le voir
so yeah if you use Á it's a giveaway that you're a foreigner, and could lead to people judging you for it
which is stupid but does happen
but no confusions
ça dépend des gens
Événement est l'écriture de base, évènement c'est avec les rectifications orthographiques de 1990, donc c'est beaucoup plus rare et t'as sûrement juste pas remarqué
Aigu is only used on the E in french, so on any other letter we should understand, though people will very likely point it out just about everytime you do
ć
no idea how to pronounce it lol
I know how because I use this letter in my language
a french person wouldn't
