Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
They're not phrases i use often, but I'd say that
Cave à vin = wine cellar, a place to store wine, might also refer to a wine store
Caviste = wine seller
Marchand de vin = very literally wine merchant
Merci, @heavy fog , how would you say wine shop then ?
Let's say you want someone to drive you to the wine store. Which word would you use?
Yeaa the thing is I've never been there xd
I'd say magasin de vin maybe
Or just go to a supermarket instead
They have plenty of wine too
My mom says it's cave
Maps says caviste
Mom says caviste is the person who sells wine
Which makes sense
This is hilarious. I'm going to imagine having a sip of wine while sitting in a cave with some cavewomen friends in order to crystallize this one in my mind.
Merci beaucoup 🌼
nooo cave is grotte
