Chez comes from the Latin word that literally means "at the house of". It was taken as a preposition in French's history.

Do note that the expression varies depending on whose house you're talking about.
Mon chez-moi, ton chez-toi, son chez-lui/elle/soi, notre chez-nous, votre chez-vous, leur chez-eux/elles.

All of those are invariable naturally.

You can also just say "je suis rentré(e)" depending on what exactly you're trying to get across
