Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

I want to make sure that I get this right, (1) refers to un moment and (5) refers to l'habitude, le besoin. Next I don't understand what the locution "m'en faire" (4) means and the role that "à ce que" (2) plays. Also did they use subjonctif mode in (3) because that expresses a subjective opinion of the locuteur?

(1) correct
(5) it only refers to habitude
(4) "en" refers to the goodnight kiss ritual
(2) this is actually pretty confusing. I would've expected just "que" since it's completing "souhaiter" but we have "à ce que", as if it were completing "arrivais". maybe there's something I'm not getting
(3) this is actually the second form of the past conditional (which looks exactly like the pluperfect subjunctive). so just a literary version of "elle aurait voulu"

I feel like "à ce que" has a similar use as "afin que" here.

As for (4), the pronoun "en" also replaces a noun complement introduced by the preposition "de". Here, we have le besoin de... and l'habitude de... It refers to the asking for an extra kiss.

do you happen to know any other examples of that usage?
