Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
hey, I would recommend checking Forvo for pronunciation, you can find voice recordings for individual words there.
Youglish and Wiktionary are good alternatives as well
couple things to note:
- French has many more key vowel sounds compared to English. A lot of people actually don't even realize some sounds are supposed to be different
- individual words don't tell the whole story. Some elements like liaison can change the pronunciation of the sentence when you put words together
- Prosody works differently in French as well, with no stress on words
Highly appreciate this. For me it's a little difficult. I need the correction if I don't quite get the pronouciation. 🙂
feel free to send recordings in #prononciation and ask for feedback!
Thank you for the suggestion! While sending in a recording is a helpful option for some, I personally find it very difficult to learn that way. Since my French foundation is so weak, I really need that one-on-one, conversation to correct my mistakes in real-time. I'm hoping to find someone willing to spare a little time for a quick chat so I can get that direct feedback. Thank you for understanding!
