#verbal instructions tu/vous

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
verbal instructions tu/vous
in written instructions you have three options:
- 2nd person plural imperative
- 2nd person singular imperative
- plain infinitive
e.g.
battez les œufs
bats les œufs
bettre les œufs
when speaking, you use the appropriate imperative for the pronoun you use with the person you're speaking to
Plain infinitive is an option?
I remember my kettle has OUVRIR button so I just assumed labels are usually infinitif too
yes, very common for written instruction lists
they're describing the functionality/action the button will perform, rather than giving an instruction, so infinitive makes the most sense
Merci beaucoup
