The French founders were the brothers Adolphe and Joseph-EugĂšne Schneider. It's simply their name. Germany and France have a long history, so this isn't all that unlikely.

It's so cool that some European have open borders and you can move and settle in some other country and do your business there.

Sure but Schneider was founded in the 1800s way before the modern day open borders/trade agreements (EU, Schengen, EEA...)
Most likely it's a family of Germanic descent that had been implanted in the area for some time.
