In that case I would say it can go either way, but I personally follow the open/closed syllable rule for non-final syllables, and I feel like I hardly make a difference orally in those cases anyway
No I did indeed mean that. She pronounced it /ufɹɪə˞/
She doesn’t tend to have the best accent
