Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
-# "Pratiquons après 8h" be careful with your accents and spelling
"let's" basically always translates two ways:
- a firm affirmative sentence using "on", indicating you're doing it
- imperative nous, acting as an instruction to your own group
so they're both right, but convey slightly different things
Je vois, merci, après not aprés.
Chatgpt is telling me the intention changes.
On va is used for suggesting/motivating
Imperative more for invite for action now. Qu’est que ce tu crois?
ChatGPT is not a legitimate language learning tool and can hallucinate things
It's a bad idea to ask it direct grammar questions as it will make up plausible sounding answers even when it's completely wrong
Using the imperative is a bit more insistent
Using on with a verb in the indicative is mroe of a suggestion
to me the nous imperative is formal so i'd avoid it when speaking
i'd say "on s'entraîne/pratique après 8h ?"
I would argue it is useful as long as you don't put your faith in it blindly. It's good for revising your texts for example, my experience has been good with that, it very rarely misses errors and corrects them well. But true, when it comes to more advanced grammar/nuances of the language, it's pretty much a coin flip whether it's bullshitting you or not.
You can argue that
The trouble is people trust ChatGPT way more than they should
Merci mes amies, for all of this.
Yeah I try to take ChatGPT with a grain of salt sometimes as I do notice some inconsistencies.
I have now used it more of a general guide for certain things and seek out real answers for practical things.
That helps a lot.
So to go back, if I wanted to say “Let’s eat after 8PM”
On mange après 20H ?
yeah exactly
well when u say that its more inviting than "lets eat" which i feel is more commanding
ig it doesnt rly matter
Parfait, je peux voir comment c’est plus naturel
