Sure, vais is much more common but there's nothing forbiding you from using me rends here. Plus, the OP intentionally used the latter to see if Duo would accept it.

Yeah sometimes I like to stray from what it expects me to do just to help me remember “hey this exists too” because duo can be too repetitive sometimes. : P
