Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
like he didn't want to be spoiled?
(the person talking)
or he doesn't want to have the impression??
i would say le détester refers to le destin
i feel like we're lacking context to help you there
Ce n'était pas intentionnel de sa part ?
I personally would've translated it as 'It was not needed' or 'It was not deserved'
because « voulu » can also be used to mean 'needed' like « les nécessités voulues (the required needs, not the wanted needs) »
'Even in my past life, the head of the clan was generous with me. Of course, it wasn't deserved/needed but I feel like it's my destiny that he end up spoiling/wasting/ruining me [depends on the overall context]. So… I can't hate him [if talking about the clan head]/it [if talking about the destiny]'
AHH that makes more sense, thanks bertie
how does gâté mean ruined there if the first sentence is positive
It depends on the context because if the head spoils you, you may become unable to become a good member of society because you didn't go through the many steps required to be a member of society
That happens in plenty of stories where a spoiled kid becomes, well, someone useless in a real life situation
