With the alternative of

Sauf toi. Parce que pour toi, il est plus important de conserver tes idées que d'avoir un fils.

Second one is good, first one is wrong but only needs a few extra words to transform part of it into a subordinated phrase or make your infinitive sentence into a complément de verbe direct.
So:
"Sauf toi. Parce que tu trouves **que **conserver tes idées aplus d'importance que d'avoir un fils."
or
"Sauf toi. Parce que tu trouves la conservation de tes idées plus importante que d'avoir un fils."

again the second one you came up with is correct and natural
