Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Well I actually think "tout" here is not even a COD, but I don't know which rule allows it to be placed before the conjugated verb
if it is COD, should that have been « Ils nous tout ont expliqué » ? The way it is placed I dont get it
Though « tout » can become a pronoun, it still acts like an adverb which is why it’s a special case
Hence why it’s placed there where adverbs are usually placed
that would make a lot more sense, tho my textbook refers to it as a pronom indéfini
tout is multifaceted
Hello! Could you explain why tout is placed before the verb here even tho its not a compound tense?
« Je crois que la meilleure chose à faire est de tout lui dire »
I seems like an actual COD here TT
Short adverbs can be placed before the infinitive
« J’hésite à bien lui dire la vérité »
Though « tout » is an object it acts as an adverb and thus is placed before the infinitive
