Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Il y a → “There is/are” in a neutral, descriptive way (location, amount, presence in space/time).
Il existe → “There exists” in an emphatic or formal way, focusing on the reality or possibility of something rather than just stating it’s there.

Examples of Il y a:

Il y a un chat dans le jardin.

Il y a beaucoup de monde ici.

Examples of Il existe:

Il existe des solutions à ce problème.

Il existe des animaux qui vivent sans lumière.
