Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
i think it should be "autant pour moi"
litteraly "as much for me"
cause "au temps" means "to the time of" or somekind
Yes. It comes from the military, whenever a soldier makes a mistake in their movements they shout "Au temps !" since they weren't in time
"Autant pour moi" is a typo, but it's become so common it might as well be correct
Not really a typo, both forms are attested with different justifications behind them, and both are used. For the most part, "au temps" is only considered "more correct" because l'Académie says so.
ah so it's just l'académie being weird.
the military story might be a myth too:
what about haut temps pour moi
i recommend using chatgpt, chatgpt is less literal in the sense that it gives you all the different ways of saying things depending on context and also you can use chatgpt call-mode to have a 1-on-1 conversation with it and you don’t get embarrassed for messing up
