Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Can you detail what "happening forever" means exactly? Maybe an example
Like how would somebody say: The chef is taking forever with our food
Or “we have been friends since forever”
these are completely different things
il en met du temps/il prend son temps/il est long/il lui faut combien de temps
on est amis depuis toujours
That’s why I asked because I felt expressing such a huge amount of time would be different with each sentence
Also what context would I use pour toujours for?
And thanks!!!🙏🏽
pour toujours is like until the end of times
I think my weakness with French is and I hope I make sense with saying this I usually construct sentences from an English speaking standpoint and even though I’m self aware I still feel I try to make phrases based on English colloquialisms
like nous serons ensemble pour toujours
until you aren’t 💔
Because I don’t think a French person would say il lui faut combien de pour toujours lmaooo
you could also use “à jamais” for that case fwiw
i mean you don't say that in english either right
he needs how many for always
