Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Probably a succinct example
single word sentences
I believe so: « Merde » « Putain »
is there a language where single word sentences aren't said? lol it seems like... necessary for language to function
It works in japanese too
I keep forgetting to include articles when I write French so I’m wondering if it still applied here lol
Here, I hear people say them all the time without articles
That's an interesting question
'single word sentences' are a thing in every language i've ever come across
but there are many types of single word sentences
Like interjections
swears
adverbs sometimes
answers to questions, esp. yes / no
I was about to say that computer languages maybe don't have single word sentences but that's actually untrue, every computer language I've come across can evaluate single literals as a complete program
