Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

hi, unsure if this is a mistake or an shaky construction:
"ça fait environ 4 ans que j'ai etudié le Français" means you studied French at one point 4 years ago. If you meant "since you started" and doesn't imply you were doing it for a long period

exerci__c__e takes a c in French
si quelqu'un a des suggestions => you're not talking about specific suggestions nor the concept of suggestions, but any one has, so indefinite article
je voudrais trouver des cahiers d'exercices => same thing, you're not talking about specific workbooks
qui reste entre les niveaux B1 et B2 => while not ungrammatical, it sounds like that level is fluctuating and remaining between B1 and B2 level. If you just want to indicate the level, you can just use être

otherwise, don't have any book suggestion on my end sry 😅

I guess I should clarify: It's been 4 years since I've studied french and have not had the time/need to use it since

fluctuating and remaining between B1 and B2 level:
how do I say something that's between B1 and B2 but constant? (that being said my skill has atrophied over 4 years)

I wasn't being specific about workbooks, I just wanted suggestions if there were any. What am I missing here when using « des »

Thanks for the feedback btw!

# warped lichen > "ça fait environ 4 ans que j'ai etudié le Français" means you studied French a...

1 - yeah I realized that afterwards in your translation. A few ways to make the distinction stand out:
"ça fait environ 4 ans que j'ai pas etudié le français"
"ça fait environ 4 ans depuis que j'ai etudié le français"
"ça fait environ 4 ans que j'ai __arrêté d'__etudier le français"
"j'étudiais le français il y a environ 4 ans"

2 - oh, if you meant your level then "rester" is the correct word. It's just that your wording was about French B and not your level. If you were talking about French B, "qui est entre les niveaux B1 et B2" works perfectly.

3 - yeah exactly, "les" means specific ones, "des" means any, which is why "des" is the choice here

Also « s'il y a » suffices for both singular and plural

#

non pas s'il y ont

Est-ce qu'il y a des gens qui veulent m'aider ?
