Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Something tells me that this is a really stupid question

tropic badger
#

beaucoup = alot
très = very

#

not a stupid question

#

But you can still say desolé beaucoup, no?

#

Obviously this ain't English so the way words are used is different

I'm not a native but if you wanna say i'm very sorry you could say je suis vraiment désolé or je suis navré

oblique jungle
#

Navré? That's new, all I ever heard for sorry is desolé

tropic badger
#

it's not what you would say in most situations. I think I'd say it if I were in 1) a professional scenario (désolé would still work btw) 2) it's very heavy stuff 3) I'm tryna give my friends a bullshit funny sorry

#

would recommend listening to whateve a native says if they object to what I say tho

I'll add that trop is both "too much" and "too [adjective]", so it is the excessive version of both très and beaucoup

#

C'est trop sucré: it's too sweet
Il y a trop de sucre: there's too much sugar
