Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Bonjour à tous
Hello to all ('tous' refers to multiple people).
Bonjour tout le monde
Hey everyone (tout le monde = everyone in the world, literally).
No big difference between the two.
Bonjour à tous is a little bit more polite and formal, Bonjour tout le monde, less formal !
but yeah it's the same
I see... So I can use both with a group? Can I say "bonjour á vous" since vous can be used with groups of people?
Hmm, it's not very natural to say "Bonjour à vous" without something after. If you really want to use this type of sentence, you would say "Bonjour à vous tous", or "Bonjour à vous (number of people)"
It can sound natural, but it's more like an answer (if the group told you bonjour beforehand)
So vous quite literally means you but formal and/or for a group of people
true
Interesting
similar to "hello [X]" "well, hello to you"
You can use it for someone you don't know, older, at work, or group of people yeah
Interesting indeed... Thank you everyone!
