Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
And chatgpt didn't help with this question i had so I'm here
Hi! No, they do not have the same pronunciation. In parlerai (Future Tense), we have the sound « r » twice, whereas parlais (Imperfect) we only have it once. French natives will distinguish the 2 tenses, one is about the future, the other is about the past
I imagine you mistook present conditional (je parlerais) for imperfect (je parlais).
In some places, the conditional -rais is different from the future -rai pronunciation-wise (respectively open and closed E). However, in other places, they are pronounced the same and only context will help distinguishing them.
No specifically I mean Imperfait Parlais vs Parlerai Future. I may ask that conditional question in the future, Parlerais and Parlerai are very similar
In that case, refer to what IcosaèdreFurieux said above.
Thanks Par-Lay and Par-Leur-Ray
To be perfect, it would be : Par-Lè and Par-Leu-Rè. The sound « y » isn’t really revelant here.
J’adore xd
Parlais imperfait= Par-Lé and Simple future Parlerai Par-Leu-Raé
To sound like a native :
Imperfect : ParlÈ
Future : ParlerÉ (but kind of both, better to listen to it). It depends on the accent.
It’s not a full É, like in : « fée » for example
