Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
intéressant, pertinent, dynamique
Intéressant is just interesting
Ig it's also used like, for example
Cette option est plus intéressante parce que...
Pertinent is relevant
I think impertinent is an adjective for disrespectful kids
Dynamique is used for les secteurs d'activité etc
Have you tried asking wordref
Dynamique is also used as a noun
The meaning is pretty cryptic to me bc it's company yappery too but it's like how sth operates
I was partly inspired to post this question because I saw a reddit post where a person was explaining a problem with their relationship and a commenter said it would be “interesting” for them to go to a counselor
You would never use “interesting” that way in english but apparently “intéressant” works
This also doesn’t translate directly to english, like maybe I would say “that option might be better” or “that option has potential”?
Ah it looks like it also translates as “attractive”
Or “appealing”
pertinent = clear, lucid, insightful, well thought out, suitable
which all mean pretty different things than relevant
dynamique also seems to be translated as energetic
Which, to be fair, English dynamic also has this meaning. 'She is a young and dynamic executive in a world dominated by old men'
Example?
C’est un argument pertinent qui mérite d’être pris au sérieux
or
Il faut choisir une méthode pertinente pour ce type de projet.
