For reference, the question arose while trying to translate the following from French to English, note "fleuve" and "rivière" showing up next to each other on the top right
I would just replace "les fleuves et rivères" with "rivers"

There's also 'stream', which is a smaller/thinner body of water flowing downhill and often leading into a larger river. Seeing 'rivers and streams' side by side is not uncommon.
