Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

C'est pas "fou", c'est un verbe

#

Je m'en fous
Il s'en fout

#

S'en foutre

nocturne loom
#

Oh

#

And what does this verbe mean?

#

@quiet needle

#

And it’s a verb pronominal right?

hollow aurora
#

foutre

#

is the infinitive

#

it just happens to sound the same as fou the adjective in certain conjugations

#

just remember that verbs never conugate according to the subject's gender

The non vulgar equivalent would be s'en ficher

#

Je m'en fiche
Tu t'en fiches
Il s'en fiche

hollow aurora
nocturne loom
#

So it’s the same with je m’en fiche?

#

Its a verb too?

quiet needle
#

torn obsidian
#

quiet needle

Fichtre c'est pas un verbe

ancient thistle
#

j'm'en folle

signal berry
#

foutre by itself is like a vulgar form of "faire" but its actual usage is more complex as far as i know

cobalt vine

The difference being that with « avoir » it agrees to a direct object when placed before the verb whereas with « être » it agrees with the subject (the indirect pronominals notwithstanding)

Par exemple, je dirais jamais
"Qu'est-ce que tu vas ficher là-bas"
Mais bien "qu'est-ce que tu vas fichtre là-bas"

#

@small ether peut en témoigner ! je suis pas le seul

#

je sais pas exactement dans quelles régions ça s'utilise, par contre
