Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Valoir la peine = to be worth it
Je me dis que ça quand même la peine d’essayer
Would be like
“I tell myself that it was still worth trying”
I was afraid of how grandpa could react but I told myself that it was still worth it. Is the whole sentence
Dis is in passé simple, you can tell because the narration text is in the past. So "I told myself".
Or yeah ur right
That’s for a “jail sentence” I believe
La peine means pain
Valoir la peine is an expression though
i think i get it. so like "to be worth the hassle/ risk"?
ahh okay taht makes more sense
Yes something like that
thanks!
