Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

Do you need an explanation for the text?

Thank you! and yes there are certain parts I don't understand.

"je les ai fait kiffer là"

  1. I understand this as "I made them like" which would lack a COD in this case ?

"je suis en écriture"
2. does this imply the nature of the job or is it another way to say je suis en train d'écrire ?

"je faisais du 36"
3. does this refer to size ? (age would use avoir no?)

"il a kiffé"
4. why is it "il a kiffé" and not "il l'a kiffé" ?

  1. You’re right, it does pretty much mean that but since its a familiar way of talking, grammatical rules arent really respected. « Kiffer » cant really be translated in proper french (« apprécier » is proche but in less intense and it doesnt fit well in this sentence). The context gives all the information you need.

  2. Basically he is in the process of writing his script. He probably said this in anticipation of Josettes comment lol.

  3. I think she talking about her clothing size yes.

  4. Because its like if he was saying « he liked » instead of « he like it ». Idk if im explaining this well but knowing the context you need to at the « it » so « l’ ».

Tell me if you need more explanation 👍.

Yes, like in English you can use it to call smn or give encouragement/ orders (and for vouvoiement obvi).

To call : Allez viens!

To give encouragement/ an order : Allez, tu peux le faire! (Although you can use vas-y in this case).

I cant think of any other uses.
