Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Like say, but in English this is a diphthong, whereas in French it's a single vowel.
The vowel could honestly be either, depending on the accent of the person: /ɛ/ or /e/
or somewhere in between
I assumed that "set" being given as the example was asking if the T was pronounced, tbh
Exactly what I was looking for! Thanks so much!
Kinda! Duolingo has been sometimes like, almost saying the T? But not quite its been a bit odd which is why I wanted to be certain.
There are cases where the T is pronounced, check out liaison
By default it is not though
in contexts where liaison is made, it will sound much like set
"c'est un ami"
