Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Also I’m a beginner at French
This is such a wide topic but I'll do the best I can.
(1) C'est (It is)
« c'est » is a contraction of two words, « ce (it) » and « est (is) ». The « est » is a conjugation of the verb « être ». Conjugation is when a verb changes according to its subject and tense. It's similar to how English 'to be' changes to 'am' when paired with 'I' and 'is' when paired with 'he/she/it'.
French conjugation is a lot more widespread in the sense that there's more conjugations than in English. English conjugation is only felt in the third person singular (he/she/it). Every conjugation belongs with its own subject; « je est » is wrong because « je (I) » is the first person singular and « est » is the third person singular. It should either be « je suis » or « il est ». I mean, you wouldn't say « I speaks, we am », right? Same principle.

(2) au (at/to the)
« au » is a contraction of the preposition « à (at/to) » and the masculine definite article « le (the) ». Contractions are mandatory in French, unlike English.

(3) ça (this)
« ça » is an informal version of the pronoun « cela (it/this/that) ». You can use « cela/ça » with every verb except « être ». With « être », you can only use « ce ». That's why you have « c'est (ce + est) » but not « ça est ». This is a group of pronouns called indefinite demonstratives.

(4) va (goes)
« va » is the third person singular conjugation (il/elle/on) of the verb « aller (to go) ».

Since you are (presumably) a beginner, I'll put some stuff here

A Discord server offers options diverse enough that you can learn a lot just from hanging around, but it's always best to have other language sources, such as a textbook, Duolingo, Busuu, Anki, listening to music, podcasts, reading books and/or news etc. That way you can go from set phrases to more advanced language structures.
