Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
conjuguez les verbes entre parentheses
I'm partial to passé composé because it was just a one off
Me too.
both work here, but passé composé is more common because it's a one off
If it were habitual it would be « toutes les nuits »
but I think both work
it just depends on your intentions
Hier, je suis resté éveillé toute la nuit
Je faisais mes devoirs toute la nuit quand je me suis rendu compte que le soleil s'était déjà levé
The second is imparfait because it's describing something being interrupted whereas the first is passé composé because it was just a one-off (just because I stayed awake this night doesn't mean I used to stay awake every night)
Can it be , hier , elle toussé toute la nuit.
Passé composé ? Sure but you're missing your auxiliary
Passé composé, as the name indicates, is a compound tense. It means it is made of two elements. You only put the past participle. As Bertie said, you didn't put the auxiliary.
Oh yeah , so its elle a toussé
That's correct.
