#«je *le* suis» and «je *la* suis»

The le will refer to a noun or adjective that was previously mentioned in the sentence.
So it's 'I am (this/that)'.
Random example:
A teacher? I am one.
Un enseignant ? Je le suis.Je suis impressionné.
Je le suis, mois aussi.
No, always « le » because it's neuter (replacing a noun acting as an adjective)
If we assume it's variable, it would also agree in number but it doesn't
« Ils étaient profs mais ils ne le sont plus »
(instead of « ils ne les sont plus »)
Therefore, « je la suis » only works if « suis » here is the verb « suivre » :
« Je la suis depuis ce matin parce qu'elle a l'air suspicieuse. (I've been following her since this morning because she seems suspicious.)»
so it's kind of a hidden noun/adjective ?
Funny cuz I saw this the other day and it made sense in my head (je la suis always being suivre) but at the same time I knew I'd never learned it so I struggled for a sec with the rule
Whenever I'm confused about the placement of 'suis', I realise I'm thinking of the wrong verb.
