Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
I prefer the passé composé one because using the imparfait makes it sound as if this was a continuous thing and not a one off
Like it gave you a stomach ache but you liked it so much you ate it again and it gave you another stomach ache
@minor rain woooo , icic , die in the l'imparfait and passé conposé trap again
Any way , merci beaucoup bertiebear!
You can say the imperfect if the action was habitual
I made the passé composé because of your English sentence
« Putain je me sens malade aujourd’hui. Le repas hier soir m’a donné mal au ventre. »
‘Fuck I feel sick today. Last night’s meal gave me a stomachache.’
« J’ai arrêté de boire le lait parce qu’il me donnait mal au ventre. »
‘I stopped drinking milk because it was giving me a stomachache.’
Notice the difference in tense even in the English sentence
