Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Lots of phrases/situations require the subjonctif, so it's not uncommon in daily conversations. As for practicing it, I'd suggest just trying to use it as often as possible at first until you feel comfortable with it.
Easy ways to add the subjonctif are to
- Use phrases like 'pour que/bien que/avant que' that require it
- Negating verbs like 'trouver/penser/croire'
- Attaching a 'que' to opinion-verbs like 'aimer/vouloir/souhaiter'
@golden cave Ic,merci beaucoup! Guess not that hard , I will try on your suggestion
@golden cave wait ,may I ask does 'bien que' also need subjonctif ? The textbook only tells me that I need to use in the conditions that express desir, sentiments or obligation lol
This is a common way to describe it, but it is too vague for practical purposes.
There is an online tool called https://www.lawlessfrench.com/subjunctivisor/ that lists subjunctive triggering verbs and phrases and lets you look up if a specific phrase requires the subjunctive or not
