afrancophonie Il existe une zone de flou entre les locuteurs natifs et les locuteurs de niveau avancé en français. Certaines personnes ont par exemple baigné dans un environnement francophone très tôt et pendant une longue période, sans pour autant acquérir tous les automatismes ni l'aisance des locuteurs natifs. Ces personnes ont des compétences ambiguës qui sont difficiles à catégoriser. Sur French, nous considérons donc qu'il est bénéfique de représenter ce statut particulier grâce au rôle Francophone d'héritage. Si nous avons l'impression qu'une personne n'est pas vraiment avancée ni native (ou bien si la personne elle-même ne se sent légitime dans aucun des deux cas) et qu'elle a un niveau autonome en français (au moins B2), nous pouvons envisager de lui accorder ce rôle.

anglophonie There is sometimes a grey area between native speakers and users with an advanced level in French. For example, some people may have been surrounded by a francophone environment at a very young age and for a long period of time, without ever having acquired the ease or automaticity of a native speaker. These people have ambiguous competency that is difficult to categorize. Here, on French, we thought it beneficial to represent this particular status with the Francophone d'héritage role. If we have the impression that a person isn't really advanced nor native (or if the person themself doesn't feel legitimate in either role) and that person has a level of autonomy in French (at least B2), we can consider giving them this role.
