Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
j'etais is in passe compose (version of past tense), and je suis is in the present tense
J'étais is the imparfait. The passé composé of 'je + être' is 'j'ai été'.
are they all correct and mean the same thing? are there nuances between them other than tenses ?
In order:
You have told him/You told him that I was a good person.
You have told him/You told him that I am a good person.
i would say the first is "you have told him that im someone good"
or somebody
That'd be more along the lines of 'quelqu'un de bien', in my opinion.
