Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Je déteste m'ennuyer.
The reflexive pronoun has to agree with the subject.
Ennuyer is a transitive verb so you have to specify the object of the verb or else the sentence won't be complete.
So when the object happens to be the same person as the subject, you use the reflexive verb.
When im talking abt myself do i use m’
What’s the reflexive pronoun is the the m’
je - me
tu - te
il/elle/on - se
nous - nous
vous - vous
ils/elles - se
How do you differentiate the two "se"s?
Short answer: context, background and situation
I could've guessed, I just can't find that out myself, for example in Duolingo.
The reflexive pronouns in the 3rd person singular and plural are identical
same as how you tell between il and ils, basically
It's the verb form that gives the difference
I can't do that either. What is the difference between those?
They sound identical
usually context, basically
Broski idk what a reflexive pronoun is.
I mean what is the "s" for?
Plural marker basically
il = he (singular)
ils = they (plural)
il usually means he or it
ils usually means they
Oh ☠️
lawlessfrench is good for starting tho
Is it like a historic piece of why is it in french? And what about translations?

• Glanville Price - A Comprehensive French Grammar
• Monique L'Huillier - Advanced French Grammar
• Malcolm Offord - A Student Grammar of French
• Hawkins & Towell - French Grammar and Usage
• Maj-Britt Mosegaard Hansen - The Structure of Modern Standard French
I'd recommend starting with a site like lawlessfrench as albatros mentioned, before moving to the books above because they can be quite dense
Wow crazy, thanks!
yessir
but i only know the basic stuff
emperor of france etc etc
But you're a native french speaker, right?
Oh, I looked at your role but expected otherwise so still asked.
that's why i have so many french grammar books 😭
Well my issue is the following:
Caroline Marie Constance Napoléon is the only female ancestor of Bonaparte currently alive (1980). And well, I need to have to share the blood of the emperor with mine.
Any tips on how to rizz up such a royal and socially high femme? And my french needs to be sigma asf.
