Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
Ton = your, te = you (object pronoun, like "me").
Examples:
Je vais t'appeler demain = I will call you tomorrow.
Il te trouve gentil = He finds you nice
J'ai ton livre = I have your book
I’m still so confused
about te
like
what’s an object pronoun and stuff
Ok so if I take the pronoun "I" for example, we have:
Subject pronoun: I go to the cinema = Je vais au cinéma
Object pronoun: He stabs me with a knife = il me poignarde avec un couteau
An object pronoun serves to replaces a noun that occupies the grammatical position of an object, i.e. the element that receives the action expressed by a verb.
If we take the same sentences with "you":
Subject pronoun: You go to the cinema = Tu vas au cinéma
Object pronoun: He stabs you with a knife = il te poignarde avec un couteau
No, an object pronoun shows who is the object of an action. A subject does an action to an object.
The difference between "tu" and "te" is that "tu" is used to show that you are the subject, the one doing the action
wdym by object of an action like the main focus of the action?
OHHH OK
that makes sense
so its when you are not the main focus
It's what we do the action upon. For example: I love my cat. The subject here is "I", because I am doing the action of loving. What am I loving? My cat, so "my cat" is the object
Mon chat t’aime?
yes
yopeee
that's right
Merci
