Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
10.2 should be Monique y est allée
10.3 y replaces à plus something
so you should replace chez les Rimbaud with nous y allons
also y goes before the verb so 10.4 should be Maman et papa y vont
10.5 should be Je l'y ai mis because y goes after the le
similarly 10.6 should have the y before the verb
Elle y est allée
11.2 you have the incorrect conjugation of aller for the je form
and again y is always before the verb
11.3 and 4 are incorect but they are the same type of mistake so I will let you figure that one out on your own.
12 is correct, well done
13.3 should be quand est-ce que ...
13.4 is an incorrect conjugation
13.5 should use combien de
Good job overall, work on your conjugation, the placement of y and the order of le and y and you'll be better in no time, cheers
for 11.4 it should be ‘oui, j’aime y en prendre’ or ‘oui, j’aime y prendre mes repas’
right now your answer is like saying ‘yes, I like your there’
10.4 Object pronouns ALWAYS come before the verb it modifies. For example, you'd write, « J'y habite » and not « *J'habite y »
11.1 Same error as above.
11.2 Same error as above.
11.3 Missing the auxiliary verb. Remember the structure of the passé composé: auxiliary + past participle. Also, same error regarding object pronoun placement.
11.4 The sentence is incomplete.
13.3 Wrong conjugation for « prendre »
13.4 Not wrong but you're just lacking the « cuits ou crus » part.
13.5 That's not how you form a question with « combien ». Read this article.
For 13.5 I'll give you an incredibly big hint. The noun « le nombre » isn't the noun bit, it's just indicating that you should be using « combien » here. I'll give an example:
« Le nombre de fois qu'il a plu la semaine dernière (the number of times it rained last week) ».
Here, « le nombre » is asking for an amount so we use « combien de ». The noun is what modifies this one which is « fois ». So, we swap out « le nombre » for « combien ».
« Combien de fois est-ce qu'il a plu la semaine dernière ? »
