Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
can you provide an example?
Nous avons faite était de visiter la Ronde
hmm... this sentence isn't grammatically correct
where did you get it from?
in this case, you can’t just have the bare infinitive visiter, just like in English you need to often need to say “to visit” rather than just visit
“the first thing we did was to visit la ronde”
“we did was to visit…” makes no sense
Is it always like that, like always use "de"? + Infinitive?
De introduces an explanation on what the thing is about.
So here, you explain what the first thing they did was. Since we have an infinitive clause, you add de.
Nope.
