Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

your 50 word diet should include one of each food group of: nouns (50%), verbs (45%), adjectives (5%). obvs with some grammar, and a pinch of prepositions and articles (definite and indefinite) it would be a very nice feast for this month

If this is your first time learning a language, i will tell you which steps my teacher followed in order to teach us.

The language may seem very different in the first time but the thing in the language learning in my case is studying and practicing regularly and exposition to language.

Since you are a beginner from the start, you have to learn the most basic things. My teacher gave us a text that mentioned a daily routine of a girl. The routine starts with her introduction her daily activies her hobbies her introduction of her family members etc. So you can find texts that mention daily routines and find about that.

As i said, you are a beginner so you dont have to study the grammar a lot, my advice is learning the most used verbs, which are crucial and mentioned in the whole language (expressions, verb tenses, uses as auxiliaires, other grammar rules..). Verbs like avoir, être, aller, faire, venir, prendre and many more is essential.

The exposition that i told you about can be acquired from French youtube vlogs, french podcasts and many more ressources. There is also #1279421820654850162 channel if you want to take a look. And there is french reddit megathread if i remember right.

This is a process and dont rush anything. If you have any problem or question, you can always ask here for help.

And thinking about a number to limit your learning doesnt seem right to me but it is just my opinion. You can do it your way too, since im just a student and trying to learn this language and we are in the same path. You can do all the things like you want and ask when you are confused
