Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
French in 6 months challenge
Hi there, I'm not interested but if you want to find someone who is, you can go over to #correspondances and find someone there.
Though, if I may, could I temper your expectations a bit? I know that you want to be A2/B1 in 6 months which is actually achievable and realistic but barring a specific study plan, you should supplement your 30 minute sessions with a lot of material. Start consuming more French stuff:
– Easy French have videos with French people subtitled in French and English, and InnerFrench has videos and podcasts for beginners and upwards.
– Try looking up French songs and sing along to them
– Find some children stories and read through them, LawlessFrench has many of them adapted to every level.
In addition, though Armenian, English, and French are all Indo-European languages, Armenian is a lot more separated than the other two, and even though English and French are really close (England was ruled by French nobility for like 300 years), them being separate subfamilies (English being Germanic and French being Romance) still makes them unintelligible. Don't think it's 'relatively easy', it's not, so temper your expectations here too.
Otherwise, good luck! Learning French will be a journey and I hope you'll have fun!
Thanks for information. Actually, yes, Armenian is from another line of Indo-European languages, but a lot of simple words are very similar to each other. That works even with Russian.
And thank you for such useful resources, too.
Passe une bonne journée
I would disagree with that since Russian and Armenian have been closely linked whereas Armenian and English/French aren't, but that's for someone who actually understands Armenian and English/French to comment on.
Yeah, I am agree with you in a lot of terms. Actually I think the description from my side regarding the languages was not intuitive. What I meant was about the associations of different simple words. In such way there is a plenty of words to remember: “chien”, “chat” etc.
