It's not a question of French negation being better or worse than English lol, it's just a different language with a different system

The answer you put would be like saying "They not are calm" in English - the word order simply doesn't work that way

in French the standard negation is "ne…pas" and you put that around the conjugated verb

Yeah I failed the checkpoint, I got beat by ''Complete the sentence: Il N'est pas content''. I put Il ne pas content. French negation is definitely not easy for me, its completely new

Example ''Je ne suis pas stresse'' I am not stressed. I'm not sure where to put the ne and the pas, and I learned you only say pas when speaking but mandatory to use ne when writing

There are historical reasons for French's two part negation, but suffice it to say that, yes, in formal situations you should use both parts

and until you're comfortable negating any verb, you should get used to using both parts even for informal stuff, so that you learn how to use it correctly

Example: Vous n'etes pas contents?'' I think subject is Vous, and etes is a verb I think. I think it means are or to be. And pas is after the verb?

Yeah I have no idea what the accents are I just call them right or left. I have an American keyboard also not sure how I'd even use Accents
