Please be patient

Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.

Pro tip: you can rename the thread title with `.tr <thread name>`

Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.

I use quizlet. A lot of French teachers make flashcards on there. There's even sets specifically directed at A1 or A2.

Not really. I'd just search like "French A1" and look at the cards and see if I like them.

I kinda look for a few things when I'm determining which decks I want to use.

If it's made by a teacher I assume a teacher finds these are important terms to learn or this is an important way to learn terms (some teachers use conjugations and some just throw in the words).

If it's used by I lot of people I assume it's probably helpful. Like with all of the decks out there if 45 chose this one it's at least worth peaking at.

And if it's got a lot of cards I usually take a quick glimpse to see if I like it because sometimes that means someone found a ton of verbs or something that they find essential. And I wanna look to see if I agree. But sometimes the larger decks are kinda a pain to get through.

But if you start clicking around especially in the teacher decks your start to notice a similar theme.

I say just create a class in quizlet. Find a few sets that you like and add it to the class (keeping this in mind). And as you get used to it you can set up your own deck based on what you think is important. (Like I don't put bonjour and salut and "j'ai faim" and those types of things in my deck because I know it so there's no point in wasting my time with it.)

For the record I'm not saying any of these sets are good that you should for sure add. I'm saying those are examples of ones I'd look at to determine if I'd add them. Whether or not I would depends on 1) if it has new material to me 2) if I feel like I'm at the point in my learning that type of info (what's the point in learning directions if you don't even know how to say hello?) 3) if I feel like I can learn the info this way (some of these decks have the verbs conjugated and some don't. Whichever method works for you is up to you).
