Our volunteers look into many questions every day; sometimes it takes them a little while to answer.
Make it descriptive, including relevant context, but also to the point. This way you improve your chances of getting a more relevant and specific answer.
What aren't you understanding? There's a translation provided…
“Moi, c’est Alice.” means “I’m Alice”
In English you can say “Alice, that’s me.” in French you can say both
youre so lovely and helpful
but someone said that c'est - means - this is
so its like
im talking about myself as: this is alice/im alice?
I am when the question is clear!
c'est basically means it is or this is
ce means it/this
est means is
both combined become c'est because there is vowel so we put apostrophe
yeah pretty much
like "me, its alice"
French doesn't usually differentiate between "this", "that" and "it"
"C'est" can also be used for things such as "he/she is" when you are introducing something/someone with a noun (in this case a proper noun)
French also loves to repeat things to add emphasis or clarity, hence the repetition of the subject (in this case "c'est" on its own would not at all be clear enough as to who or what you're talking about)
oh my god thank you all so much <33
ca ma soule
